Spray Foam Insulation

Your rim joist, which is where your house meets the foundation, is 1 of the biggest culprits of energy loss. When we do spray foam in a rim joist, we seal that area against outside elements. This will help not only with maintaining your homes temperature and energy efficiency, it helps with moisture levels in your home.

In this house, they have an attached garage. They also have a brick house. When we see this, it can create some challenges. Since we don't drill through brick, we insulate the walls from the inside. In this situation, the homeowner had indoor paneling that they removed in preparations for us to come in. We sprayed the polyurethane foam in between the wall studs, and then shaved it down so when the sheet rock goes up, it will sit flush against the wall as it should!

In this house, we did all of the basement walls in spray foam. The foam gets sprayed directly on to the stone walls, to a depth of 2 to 3 inches. The depth of foam sprayed is determined by the needs of the homeowner. Spraying the basement walls is a great way to keep heat in your basement, and lower moisture levels!

We don't often think of a simple overhang as a costly thing, and it doesn't have to be! When you insulate your overhang areas, it keeps your living space more comfortable by keeping the heat or the cold from seeping in to your house through the walls.
