I started in May 2023 to get qualified for the NYSERDA Empower+ Program with another local
insulation company. 5 months later and a lot of problems, I was supposedly approved. I did not
feel comfortable working with this company and called Insulation Man to see if they could
become my NYSERDA Participation Contractor. They got my home’s insulation project
approved, scheduled, and installed in less time than the other company took to just get my

Insulation Man is a great company if you need any kind of heating or cooling work done on your house. I have an older house and needed new insulation and a new furnace. From the first impression of Joey and Sean we were glad to have Insulation Man do our work. I can’t express enough the level of care taken by Joey as the lead sprayer. He was so meticulous to make sure everything was sealed properly and as smooth as possible. He made it look so easy to make a laid stone foundation appear so smooth when he was done.

It has been a pleasure meeting someone with passion for doing a job right. We have experienced two things with the blown-in insulation installed by Insulation Man. We expected the first, but the second was a surprise. Our furnace does not run as often as it used to (expected), and we didn’t notice the noise from the neighbors and street (unexpected and wonderful). Your crew was courteous and clean with nothing left behind.
I realized the first winter that I spent in my new home in Vestal New York that the insulation was insufficient. The house never had a warm comfortable feeling. The bedrooms above the garage were especially cold and the floors freezing to bare feet. The furnace ran more and more the lower the temperature got. When the temperature dropped into the negative digits for several days the furnace seemed to run almost constantly. Eventually on a Sunday of course, the furnace gave up from exhaustion and needed a costly repair. The repair man told me that he had been too many calls in my neighborhood over the winter and that the houses were not well insulated when built in the 1960’s. Naturally when winter turned to spring I forgot about the entire problem. Until we started to have a lot of 80+ degree days, the air conditioner ran constantly and the house never really felt cool.
I signed up for a NYSERDA energy assessment and selected Insulation Man to perform the testing. I selected Insulation Man because I knew they were a reputable company that had performed work in the Greater Binghamton area for a number of years.
I was SHOCKED to learn my new home had no insulation in the walls!
The sales representative was a pleasure to work with. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. He explained the options that were available for insulating the house and how the work would be performed. The quote process was very professional and I appreciate that he was willing to work around my schedule.
Once the work was scheduled the crew showed up on time, performed all promised work, finished on time and cleaned up when they were finished. They were prompt, polite, neat and very fast. The production manager provided me with feedback on how the insulating was going when I asked and he made sure that I was satisfied with the work and clean up when the work was complete.
My home is much more comfortable and very quite. I am definitely enjoying the decrease in my electric bill. I am very satisfied on all counts. I will recommend Insulation Man to others.
